Bridge Classes Just for Parents

Bridge for Parents – Start to Play IThis class is designed for new players or players that haven’t played in many years that want to learn something about the “new” bridge. Learn the basics concepts of the game, value of suits and cards and basic hand evaluation. You will learn how an auction proceeds, what a “trump” contract is as well as No Trump. We will also learn what to bid and how high to bid. There will be example hands to practice illustrating what is covered each day.
The instructor, Suzanne Cliffe, teaches many beginners and intermediate players at the bridge club in New Orleans, as well as directing games designed specifically to introduce players to duplicate bridge.
Bridge for Parents – Advance Your Game IThese lessons are for parents that know the basics of the game and want to improve their skills. Using a power point presentation, the focus will be on planning the play, the play of the hand in both no trump and trump suit contracts, hand re-evaluation after each bid. Pulling trumps and when to delay pulling trumps will be covered as well.
The instructor, Jennie Sauviac, is a Gold Life Master, ACBL Sectional Director and certified bridge teacher, and Cruise Director.
